Morocco itself is an incredibly romantic country, filled with things to do that will either ignite or rekindle that spark. Whether you’re interested in spending the night under the stars at a Berber camp in the Sahara, enjoying a delicious seafood dinner overlooking the ocean in Essaouira, or hunting for antiques in the medina in Fez, you and your lover can find plenty of date ideas to help bring you closer together.
But hands down, nothing compares to the most romantic Moroccan date; a hot air balloon ride in Marrakech.
While normally “The Red City” with its high rises in Guiliez, and overcrowded, dusty alleys in the medina is not nearly as pretty as Chefchouen or gorgeous seaside villages and towns along the coast, the sunrise view you’ll catch while floating up in the clouds is absolutely breathtaking.
The way the sun hits the magnificent city, particularly as it rises behind the mosques, it is a sight you will never forget. Perhaps the most spectacular view from the clouds will be of the Atlas Mountains hugging the city edges, oftentimes with the peaks covered in snow.
There is hardly anything more romantic than watching the sunrise in Marrakesh. With a hot air balloon ride you have the opportunity to do this from high altitude. Misty fields and the city fade away under you until the moment the sun rises. The landscape, which looked bleak at the beginning, turns into a sea of colours. Especially private balloon rides are a unique, romantic experience for couples just fallen in love.
There are quite a few companies to choose from, but below we have shared a few of our favorites.
Ciel d’Afrique not only offers you a great balloon ride, which takes about an hour, but also collects you at your hotel and offers you a delicious traditional Berber breakfast. For those who like it especially romantic, breakfast is also available in the air. It could hardly be more romantic.
Marrakech by Air
Marrakech By Air offers you, besides the hotel transfer, the balloon ride and a breakfast, the possibility to ride camels through the beautiful landscape. You get traditional clothes for this trip and you can feel like a real Moroccan, which is the perfect scenario for for great photos.
Maroc Montgolfière, with more than 30 years of experience, guarantees you the most impressive and romantic balloon rides. You will have a delicious breakfast after the balloon flight in a traditional house in the small village where the flight ends. The earlier you get up, the better the experience. With Maroc Montgolfière you also have the chance to book a balloon ride in the daytime to enjoy the beauty of Marrakech in its full glory.
Whichever company you choose, be sure to tell us about your experience!
