Who says blind dates suck? The Royal wedding is proof otherwise. As billions of people around the world watched Prince Harry and Meghan Markle give their vows at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19, the rest of us single girls stop sighing in exasperation as we check our OK Cupid and Tinder profiles yet again, and we put our phones on mute as our moms ramble on and on about “the nice boy” from down the street from her who is perfect for us. Today, we have hope.

Could there be a more romantic fairytale about finding love?

Sure, there were catty articles written about how Meghan has always dreamed of being a princess, and how she was addicted to the show, “The Royals,” and how there’s a book being written about the “pushy princess” who was hell-bent on marrying a prince.

But which one of us single ladies never donned a fake tiara and gown at least once in our lives after watching a Disney rerun?

I’m not typically attracted to redheads, nor do I prefer younger men, but lil’ Harry was looking quite sexy in shades in some of his younger days. And while I say I don’t care about a man’s bank account or pretty, classic Jaguars like the one the newlyweds used as their chariot to whisk them to the reception, well, that image had me rethinking my disdain for the monarchy and celebrities in general. It’s not that I’m hating on anybody, I just think that our society praises people for such shallow reasons; money, looks, material things (like sexy Jaguars), and oftentimes, the people we are crazy about have done nothing to earn such praise or status other than to be born into the right family.

I’m working on an article about the sexiest male bloggers. There have been plenty of “sexy boy blogger” posts written before, but my criteria is a bit different. I won’t simply include guys with sexy abs or stunning blond surfers in tight Speedos, but I’m looking all over the web to find the men who are doing things to help or to change the world. Men who volunteer or work for charities, or who write about people who struggle to simply survive. These are the men I find sexy.

But speaking of sexy men, back to the royal fairy tale wedding. I love that Prince Harry and Meghan bonded over their desire to help others. I’m not sure how much of what I read about them is real or bullshit, but I need to believe that there are men like that out there; decent, kind, caring men. If you watch the TV movie called Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story that tells how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met (on a blind date!) and fell in love, maybe you’ll believe in fairytales, too.

I’m off to do my research for my sexiest male travel bloggers post. If you know of a guy who should be included in the article, please comment below!

What about you? Have you ever had a good blind date, or met a nice guy from online? Have you ever fallen for someone from a different country? What happened? Tell us in the comments below!

In the meantime here are a few photos of the romance that led to the Royal fairytale wedding. Who says blind dates suck? The Royal wedding is proof otherwise.
