Feeling lonely in your hotel room tonight? Fear not, my dear, because today we’re going to talk about Tinder!

That’s right, we’re talking about the dating app that’s taking the world by storm. With just a few taps on your phone, you can find a hot date to keep you company during your travels. No more lonely nights for you, my friend!

But be aware- this app is mainly used by singles who are looking for some hot and heavy action. So, if you’re not into that kind of thing, you might want to swipe left and keep on swiping until you find your match. Don’t worry, there’s someone for everyone on Tinder, and you’ll find your perfect travel companion in no time.

Regular readers may remember that I’m not a fan of Tinder in general. And that is true when I am in the US. That’s because I’m not interested in casual encounters or hookups and generally people in the US tend to be seeking sex (although many people have met their partners on Tinder). But in many other countries, Tinder is used to also find potential long-term partners, so please be honest about what you are really seeking.

Just remember, if you do find someone you’re interested in, no matter where you are always meet in a public place. After all, you never know who’s lurking behind that profile pic. And if you do hit it off, who knows where the night might take you? From a romantic dinner to a wild night out, the possibilities are endless. Just make sure to bring some aspirin and a bottle of water for the morning after.

Before we go on I want to say I was pretty reluctant to write about Tinder since I’m not a big fan of advocating an app created basically for men to use women for sex. But I know many women are also looking for fun flings and there’s nothing wrong with that, but it is my goal to keep you as safe as possible as you travel.

Personally, I prefer these dating apps and sites, especially for travelers. This article will give you some great tips specifically for dating abroad where cultures can clash, or you just might find your soul mate.

But for those who might want a bit of fun but aren’t quite comfortable hooking up with a stranger (especially in a foreign country), why not try a fun phone conversation instead?

Check out these tips below;

Tinder Tips

  1. Do your research: Before you arrive at a new destination, do some research on the area to get a sense of the local customs and any safety concerns. Check out the crime rate, and see if there are any areas to avoid, and if you’re meeting a stranger, try to meet someplace safe.
  2. Trust your instincts: If something doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to unmatch and move on. If a guy seems too good to be true, he probably is.
  3. Meet in public places: Always meet your date in a public place, like a restaurant or bar. Avoid meeting in secluded areas or going to his place on the first date.
  4. Share your location: Let a trusted friend or family member know where you are going and who you are meeting. Share your location and keep in touch throughout the date.
  5. Keep your phone charged: Make sure your phone is fully charged before you head out on your date, and bring a charger with you just in case.
  6. Stay sober: Drinking too much alcohol can impair your judgment and make you vulnerable to dangerous situations. Limit your alcohol intake and keep your wits about you.
  7. Carry pepper spray: Consider carrying pepper spray or another self-defense tool in case of emergency.
  • Remember to check the laws of the country you’re visiting since pepper spray is illegal in some places.

Remember, safety should always come first when using Tinder or any other dating app while traveling. With these tips in mind, you can enjoy your travels and make new connections while staying safe and secure.

So, pack your bags and get ready to swipe your way to a fun-filled adventure with Tinder. Who knows, you might just find the love of your life (or at least the love of your vacation). Happy swiping!
